Protest FAIL

I’d really like to understand the thought process protest organizers went through when they decided to block traffic downtown today and yesterday. Pissing people off does not make them sympathetic to your cause. This is insensitive, I know — but what in the hell do people going about their day to day work in downtown Ottawa have to do with Sri Lankan civil war? Hell, this comes down to something fundamental that I still don’t know: WHAT ARE THEY TRYING TO ACHIEVE? Do they want the western world to storm the country and bring down the government?
I don’t care enough to look into it, go fight your own war, damn it!

“IF WE INCONVENIENCE THEM WHILE THEY’RE TRYING TO GET HOME, THEN THEY’LL SUPPORT US. IF THEY DON’T WE’LL ANNOY THEM MORE!”

IT DOESN’T WORK THAT WAY, DOUCHES. Frankly, I don’t know how sitting in the street and blocking traffic is in any way legal. Organized protest or not. A march is one thing, outright inconveniencing people and disrupting traffic is another thing entirely. Hell, anyone want to go stand in Merivale Rd. for a couple hours to protest Net Neutrality or something? We can light a fire, make some smores, why not?

Fool Me Twice …

So. I lost my bus pass again today. It was similar to the first time I lost my pass … a mere 3 weeks ago … both happened on a 176, and both happened while wearing these pants. It’s annoying because I know how horrible these pockets are for carrying things and while riding the bus TO work I made SURE to put it in the cargo pockets on them, and did the same leaving hull. Apparently I did not when I left Lebreton. DAMN IT.

It’s kind of funny because while on the 176 I thought “ok this was a huge mistake, I am never taking this bus again” (because it’s so slow). BOOURNS. I guess it might be kind of ironic that after picking up my passport I realized I lost my bus pass. Aha. So I suppose the good news is that I can travel outside of the country, though not using public transportation. Aha …

The 176X I was on went by Priya’s too, and Priya valiantly tried to search it, despite her gimpy leg. However, it wasn’t there/ in the hands of the driver. THEREFORE SOMEONE BETWEEN MERVALE+VIEWMOUNT AND MACFARLANE HAS MY BUS PASS. *glare* or *yey* … :/ … I don’t know how I feel about this yet. Ahaha.
