I had one of those weird dreams Priya has posted about before … the ones about bloog. Aha. It was pretty convincing. The first thing I did when I woke up was double checked bloog to see if anything had been posted. OH SILLY ME. 

Anywho, so I’ve stayed late at work for the past two days because we now have an XBOX 360 and we’ve kind of taken to playing it after work every now and then. Except it’s an XBOX360 so I’m terrible at anything to do with it. Also: we only have NHL 08. Shudder. I had to go look up what offside meant because I caused quite a few of those … not that it would matter if I didn’t because I SUCK BALLS AT THAT GAME (or any game on an xbox for that matter).

I’ve improved a bit since starting… but hesus… I JUST REALLY DESPISE THE XBOX CONTROLLER. Gah. I can’t get over how unfamiliar and intimidating it is. Yeesh. Damn you Wii and your simple control schemes.

A Fresh, New, Exciting Feature: TAGS.

It’s like categories … but not! I’ve gone through a bunch of my excellent posts and tagged them … so what you see at the bottom of the page is basically me just tagging old posts. Hopefully looking at the “tag cloud” you’ll get the idea of how tags work. They are typically  a single word that describes the general idea or mood of your post. However, the concept of tagging is so open that I can’t tell you how to do it. JUST LISTEN TO YOUR HEART. Or don’t bother tagging at all … whatever you’re down with.

How do you tag? Below the post-editing box you’ll see something that says “Tags (separate multiple tags with commas …)” … that is where you type in your assortment of tags. Voila!

I was looking through my old sketchbook for something, when I came across this beauty:

AHAHAHA. I remember printing that off … almost a year ago … or less. I don’t know, the sledgehammer of age has … sledged … me. Anyway, wouldn’t it be great if these things spat acid? I think anything that spits acid is great.

Anyway, I have upgraded WordPress to the latest and greatest version. You’ll notice that posting and uploading is every so slightly different, but in a good way! There is a spell-checking feature, which I totally expect to go unused, but it’s there if you want to use it! OH: If you give your post a title and start typing, it will auto-save. Yes. I know. Oh your god.

Oh yes. I’m guilty of this (because I’m omnipotent when it comes to Bloog matters) … but I’ve overhauled the categories, should you be interested. There were like … a lot … of them before. Now it’s reduced to BARELY using the scrollbar. It was so difficult to do that, especially since 755 posts are now categorized as “Whatever”. Yikes.

OK. The random quotes are back in action, serving up randomness in quote form and pillaging villages.

So if you have any, add them. If you feel the need to have it span multiple lines … well, you can use the <br /> tag. (It’s the LINE BREAK tag, so it will stop your quote from staying on one line. Isn’t readability fun?) But try to keep them short! As a general rule, I’d say no more than 2-3 lines.

I’m only posting about this because most of the quotes are from 2005. Yeah, it’s been that long.

I grew extremely tired of Bloog 11, months before I made it go live, so I spent the last two days on this dainty flower.

Before you die or bludgeon me with criticism: it is a work in progress. While it does not have any images or much fanciness yet, it will–eventually. AHAHAHA. My ‘goal’ for this version of Bloog places an emphasis on readability! Since, well — I’m sure you’ll notice how large the text is. However, all of our monitors are calibrated differently! So what may appear to be a nice shade of grey to me, may completely blend into the background for you; let me know of any quirks you find.

What else *thinks* oh yes. Don’t go to the archives yet. HAH. I’m still deciding what I plan to do with that monstrosity.

I am aware of the lack of shoutbox, and lack of random quotes! THEY WILL COME, SOON.

I’ve installed a plugin that displays a users ID in their comment form when they are logged in and publish a comment.
It has the potential to work greatly.

Why?
I don’t know — want to add some identity to the comments.

wp-comments.php was edited. … it’s not been hacked to bits.
The alternating comment style has been left (to leave some uniqueness when non-loggedin follk comment ..)

the only problem is that it works only after it’s been installed (yesterday) so no old posts will have pretty comments.

I made a script to change the bloog splash page to the image below (the bleeding box) but unfortunately bloog was down on Halloween! Grr.

Don’t fret though…I will put one up on x-mas (actually I have an interesting plan for this one) and I am going to be using wonderful automation to do it! Yey.

EEE. Ben has a great idea for a poster… so great it could cause you to faint! AHAHA. Jane knows of my plans. No-one else does because you aren’t in my graphics class! AHAHA!!

It is a poster that if I can end up making… I will buy because it would just be so damn amusing… because of that I would spend more time and effort on it. About that “consumed” t-shirt I was making a while back, it’s not very complete and I don’t think It would make a good t-shirt or poster. Hmm…
