I read something so supremely ingenious today that I had to stop and say “omigod”, because it just makes so much sense. So as you normies can probably guess, it’s not easy to manual focus or let the camera vainly attempt to autofocus once the sun sets, right? Well — there’s this trick of pointing the camera at the moon and getting the camera to focus on everything from x to infinity (x depends on the lens … it’s usually like 1m+) …
A SIMILAR BUT EQUALLY BRILLIANT TECHNIQUE: USING A LASER POINTER TO GET A POINT TO FOCUS ON (if there is no moon out or you want to focus on something nearby). MY GOD. If it works like I think it should, HESUS. It’s brilliant. BRILLIANT. Haha. I’m also guessing that if you use a green laser it would work even better, since cameras are more sensitive to green light than red/blue. Er. *goes to radioshack*
/end fun photo fact of the day.
I finished the opening process with the no-fee account at PC Financial today. Haha. Sweet! *does 26 interac purchases just to take advantage of the ability to go over 25*
